CONSTANTLY ‘IN THE PINK’

Bismillah.

It’s 7am and I feel so good after doing some ‘appropriate’ chores for my morning schedules. Full of quietude and the weather seems pampering and inviting. :) Only once in a while the sounds of makcik cleaner-toiling-their-efforts are heard. Sometimes I do wonder why the feelings experienced in the morning are totally different with another period of the day. Especially when the morning phase is being spent with favorable everyday-jobs.

Suddenly I remember what ustadz Habib had told us once. He said, if we want to live our lives to its utmost and certainly become ‘in the pink’ in all its ways (be it on the subject of schools, families, careers, etc…), we must follow the manual given. Then only we will be satisfied and contented, for we have already completed what is actually being looked-for and needed for the souls, bodies and minds.

THIS IS THE MANUAL

So what did the ustadz actually mean when he talks about the manual? Simple. It is the teachings of the holy Quran and Sunnah. It is the manual given to us, not only to be memorized or read, but more importantly, to be understood and practiced consistently.

Let us make a slight inspection; do we think that for all this time, we are training ourselves to follow the right manual? How do you expect the result when Nokia’s phones’ manuals are referred-to and used for Samsung’s mobiles? Does it work? I know, you know, and all of us know the answer.

I will not explain much about the Quran as guidance, instead my focus will be on the sunnah. These days [in fact since the sahabah period] the idea of rejecting the sunnah are expanding and it is really hazardous to the ummah. It’s weird to think that some of those who possess the thinking that sunnah is not among the main sources in Islam are people with very high intellectual mind. However that’s life, and that’s the sunnatullah. Guided people are not necessarily people with excellent academic background. Yup, that’s not the yardstick.

If we admit that we are among the people with firm faith that the Sunnah of the Prophet is also a manual to lead a blissful life, so it is a must for us practice the teachings within it as much as we could. Let us plant the seeds of a sky-scraping belief in our hearts that whatever the Prophets Shollallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam had told us to do are actually the best things to be performed in our lives, and that they are for our own good.

WAKE UP!

I would like to share a hadith here:

يعقد الشيطان على قافية رأس أحدكم إذا هو نام ثلاث عقد يضرب كل عقدة عليك ليل طويل فارقد فإن استيقظ فذكر الله انحلت عقدة فإن توضأ انحلت عقدة فإن صلى انحلت عقدة فأصبح نشيطا طيب النفس وإلا أصبح خبيث النفس كسلان

The translation: While anyone of you is sleeping, the shaitan will tie three knots at the back of his head, hitting them [the knots] while saying: “The night is extended for you, so just remain sleeping…!” In that following morning, if he wakes up and straight away remember Allah [recite du’a], one of the knots will be untied. After that, if he takes the wudhu’, another knot will be untied, and lastly, if he performs the solah, another knot will be untied. So he will wake up on that particular morning with a very active body and highly motivated spirit. If not [without du’a, wudhu’, and solah], he will wake up with a terrible soul and will be shrouded with laziness.

(Recorded by Bukhari in his Sahih, Kitab Jum’ah, no. of hadith: 1142)

This hadith is among the hadith taught in I’jaz Sunnah subject. The i’jaz [inimitability] element lies in the bolded sentence above. I will elaborate on it later.

Since thousands of years, the people before us understand this hadith with a very general meaning. For them, the active body and mind from waking up early [early here means to wake up during the rise of fajar sadiq- the time when Subuh prayer starts] is due to the movements in the wudhu’ and solah, as well as the spiritual effects resulted from the feelings near to God, and that’s it.

However, today’s knowledge had discovered a very precious lesson from this hadith! What’s there with the early arouse till the body and mind and soul are very much affected?

It is established that the early arouse and the walking to the mosque [for Subuh prayer] gives human the chance to get the pure-morning oxygen, which is very rich with the ozone gas [O3]. This gas gives ample benefits to human-being, because it will act as air filter, producing the antisepsis process, which inhibits the growth and multiplication of microorganisms.

It is also well-known that O3 gas offers valuable and useful effects to our nervous system, giving a better psychological side, as well as active muscles and mind. Scientific knowledge also discovers that O3 gas will fill the earth with its greatest amount during the rise of fajar sadiq, and will slowly wither away as the time for crack of dawn [sunrise] begins. [Reference: At Tibb An Nabawi, by Doctor Ibrahim Ar Rawi]

Subhanallah! This is a gift for us Muslims! Do we really care to grab it? The gas is purposively prepared for us. Let us teach ourselves to wake up early so that we will become among the people who starts the day with a high spiritual and motivational souls. Prevent ourselves from laziness and sluggishness. It will help us to shine and become the best ummah in the world. InshaALLAH!

ONLY IN KAMPONG????

So, no more excuses saying that fresh air is only available in kampong, thus making them [the villagers] active and get enough energy for the whole day, and we- the city dwellers are less-lucky to get the air because of the hustle and bustle in the throngs. No matter where on earth we are standing, the most fresh and precious air is provided for us. It’s just the matter of finding the right time, when the air surrounds us and waiting for us to seize thousands benefits in it.

The Prophet Shollallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam had informed us about this thing since thousands of years before. Indeed, Allah is the One who tells this open secret to His messenger, so that he will spread it to all human beings.

In short, if we want to make the most of our lives, we are bound to follow whatever Allah has told us. He is our creator (thank Him!) and the one & only who knows the most about us and what’s best for us.

Let us stick with the Sunnah!

p.s.: Now I know the reason why I feel so good and energetic this morning! :D
